The Esther Starkman School Council and the Esther Starkman Parent Association are separate boards both made up of volunteers that work together to support our school. The two boards are governed and run separately, however many volunteers serve on both boards. The boards work together to align their priorities to ensure that we are supporting the school as effectively as possible.
School council provides educational advice, resources and assistance to our school principal, staff and students. School council is governed by the Education Act.

Serves as a liaison between parents, the school and community groups
Supports the needs, goals and objectives of the school
Creates and provide initiatives for enhancement of the school community

The Esther Starkman Parent Association is an Alberta registered incorporated society governed by the Societies Act, and its purpose is to raise funds to support school priorities. These initiatives are based on feedback from staff and the principal and are chosen to positively impact the everyday lives of students.
Parent Association:
Creates, organizes and manages all fundraising initiatives
Applies for and maintains a Casino Gaming License
Supports the goals and objectives of the school council by funding initiatives and programs
